Robert Half Finance Accounting has partnered with a large regional home builder to identify a VP of Finance to join this growing team. This organization is poised for continued growth. The VP of Finance reports directly to the President of the organization and has a seat at the table driving strategic planning and oversight of financials. The VP of Finance will be responsible for the overall financial plans and policies along with accounting practices and relationships with the financial community. Manages all treasury, budgeting, forecasting, cost estimating, cost accounting, audit, tax, accounting, and risk management. Senior leadership is actively interviewing candidates for the VP of Finance role. The organization offers a rich benefits, bonus and compensation package.   • Directs, through subordinate supervision, procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and afford adequate accounting controls and services. Directs the activities related to funds, financing and assets.

  • Ensures appraisal of current financial position, directs strategic planning activities, and establishes budget programs.

  • Directs, consolidates and analyzes all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports. Develops new reports as necessary.

  • Plans, and recommends for approval, budgets and forecasts for the areas of accountability. Manages expenditures and reports on budget variances. Takes action, as appropriate, to correct variances.

  • Review, analysis and approval of various legal documents such as lot purchase agreements, seller statements, vendor master agreements and lease agreements.

  • Coordination with Purchasing and Construction departments to identify risks, opportunities and best practices.

  • Responsibility for negotiating payment terms with significant vendors.

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), establishing controls and testing

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • MBA or CPA preferred

  • Home Building Industry experience ideally with a publicly traded builder

  • Five or more years of progressive leadership driving a financial team at a VP of Finance level

  • Strong business acumen. Understands the home building industry and key performance metrics.
