Leidos Installation Tech/Mechanical Assembler in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado


Job Summary

This position will directly support the project lead as an installation team member accomplishing all necessary tasks involving system level modifications to Defense Support Program (DSP) Mobile Ground System (MGS) in Greeley Colorado. The effort includes installation of power distribution equipment (switchgear) and communications distribution equipment. The task will require the development of detailed installation plans and compiling nine separate equipment kits that make up the modification suite.

Primary Responsabilities

The technician will support upgrade kit testing prior to each terminal installation. The installation technician will be responsible for removing existing equipment, associated cables, and then following the developed drawing package and plans for emplacing new equipment wiring and terminations within the affected equipment rack assemblies. Technician will also be responsible for identifying necessary changes and documenting notes as red-lines for use by a draftsman for inclusion of any deviations or changes experienced or required during kit installations. The intent being to update and deliver as a final drawing package.

*Note- *This is a temporary position with an anticipated effort timeline from 1 Jun 2018 through 1 April 2019.


Basic Qualifications

-Requires active DoD Secret security clearance - candidates without clearance will not be considered

-High school education and 4+ years of related experience working with standard installation tools and inter-rack termination practices.

Preferred Qualifications

-Recent direct experience supporting/working with Air Force Space Command programs accomplishing similar installation efforts within transportable mission equipment.

-Drawing experience AutoCAD or Visio is a plus.
