Kelly Services Quality Manager in Castle Rock, Colorado
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the team of quality inspectors and ensuring that they are appropriately engaged in the day-to-day quality of the manufacturing process. This role will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality management system and all related third party certifications. The Quality Manager is responsible for supplier quality management and customer quality.
The Quality Manager requires a strong foundation in PPAP, FMEA, and Corrective Actions (8D) in order to meet the needs of internal and external customers. This position is hands-on and must have a willingness to promote a continuous improvement culture.
Role and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and updating the quality system, including all relevant documentation
Manage a small team of quality inspectors and direct their daily workload with respect to; production monitoring and control, incoming inspection, shipping inspection, data collection for operations metrics, and other quality management tasks as needed
Implement and approve inspection procedures and work instructions
Ensure compliance with quality requirements, including audits of sub-suppliers of semi-finished and finished goods
Ensure timely resolution of complaints and deviations through quick response, thorough documentation and effective verbal and written communication
Act as a management representative in regards to quality issues, with the authority to stop production or shipment of goods if they fail to meet requirements
Identify, document and analyze defects, deviation and corrective actions within the philosophy of continuous improvement
Participate in new product introduction process including verification and documentation of first articles, PPAP samples, process FMEA and control plans
Maintain the documentation of raw material certifications and ensure periodic material properties analyses are performed
Publish monthly and quarterly reports for all quality metrics as defined in Company procedures
Responsible for calibration and care of measuring equipment
Conduct internal and external audits
Four year college degree in a technical discipline preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, ISO 1801 and EN 1090
Demonstrated knowledge of 8-D, PPAP, FMEA and control plans
Understanding of processes related to sheet metal fabrication
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to perform hands-on work on a day-to-day basis
Customer service mindset and a professional demeanor for internal and external customers
10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality, continuous improvement and process development
